About Explorer Elementary
Explorer Elementary is a K-5 Elementary School within the Kentwood Public School District, located in Kentwood, Michigan.

Explorer Elementary ...
is a National Blue Ribbon School.
We are a K-5 building with 469 students ranging in ages from 5-11 years of age
We are a diverse community
11 different languages spoken
We have children from all over the world attending our schoool.

Currently, Explorer is the only school in the area planning to use this system to expose kids to technology and programming.  There has been discussion around the possibility of the expansion of this program to the rest of the Kentwood School district or even to other interested districts in the area.  No details as further planning needs to be done.

In the future, we see possibilities to use Kodu as a starting point for kids to learn learn computer skills and follow on with Small Basic or other programming courses in later years.  Those could include other languages or technologies as appropriate.
